2013 Persons Day Breakfast in Kamloops

October 18, 2013 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am

Persons Day banner

Appreciate the progress Canadian women have made toward gender equality. Recognize how much further we still have to go toward a more equal and just society.

Join us to hear Nitya Iyer speak about the rights of incarcerated mothers and their babies to stay together. Iyer recently represented West Coast LEAF in Inglis v. Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General of BC, the constitutional challenge to the cancellation of the mother-baby program at the Alouette Correctional Centre for Women heard earlier this year.
