In May 2017, West Coast LEAF and 64 other organizations signed an open letter to candidates in the BC provincial election, urging them to work to eliminate accessibility barriers to obtaining income assistance. The letter called for an end to the new and often insurmountable barriers resulting from the Ministry’s move to an online application system and its reduction of staffing to assist clients.
